Want some green stuff!?

The post this day is about GREEN. Not the Hulk Green, but environment green. A few questions must be answered about the subject.

- Where do people learn about enviromentally friendly practices?

I know there're a few organisations, but sadly I can't remeber the name. I know there's one that teaches you to become more friendly with your surroundings, and gives you some techniques on food harvesting and garbage recicling.

- Have you incorported recycling into your habits? Describe

Not really, mostly due of the lack of knowledge downtown. Also, you can't say that the city has some kind of politics about.

- Do you use a bike or your legs instead of a car?

I'm used to walk home from the university in the evenings. In the morning, I take the bus. My family has no car.

- Have you joined or supported any eco-organisations? Why/Why not?

The only org I may have joined/supported was one about the defense of the whales on chilean seas. Why? Because there was a massive media advertising. And I care for whales.

- What else have you done /would you like to do?

I would like to reduce car traffic, in order to improve the city's air quality. Since the begining of Transantiago, pollution has gone to levels that surpass the absurd.

- What have you done to reduce your carbon footprint?

Nothing that I know.

- What's missing in our society/Santiago regarding this issue?

A real NGO that protects the environment. All government attempts have been useless, not to say that they don't give a damn about.

So, like Freddy Mercury said in "Fat Bottomed Girls, "get on your bikes and ride!"
