Greetings, travelers!!!! On this very day, we embark on an adventure. A journey across time and space in a ship called Imagination. We now enter the world of Sci-Fi (not the channel, I mean genre). When I was a young kid, years and years ago, there was a book that got my attention with a strong and fiery blow: Ray Bradbury's Farenheit 451. The plot, as you can search on the web, goes by this simple yet mindblasting premise: firemen don't work to cease fires, they are there to ignite 'em. In a world where all the books are forbidden by law, a fireman, Guy Montag, lives the life of everyone in this blind society. When a girl, called Clarisse McMillan, reaches this man, the world all around him begins to change, and suddenly things are not what they were supossed to be.
A novel written by Ray Bradbury, is a complete depiction of what could become of us if things are to keep in the same rail. When you think about it, there's a whole depreciation around books. Younger generations are lazy, don't like to read, and enjoy more the fact of being in front of a screen, doing anything. Most people logs on social networks such as facebook, twitter, and others (I'm not aspecialist on the subject, since I don't really care much about what social networks are around), and they have "friends" (or at least what they call friends), having only a text contact. You can lie about everything when you write something. The sky is the limit, since you don't get to see the other's face.
Most science fiction books/novels were made to show a variation of our environment and society development, where there's a big, centralized government that controls all of our movements. Call it Big Brother, The Man, whatever you like. Sci-fi is supossed to be some sort of future reality that we don't want. But, nowadays, a lot of things that were just fantasy in the older days are real. And who knows what awaits.
I love Ray Bradbury and all the things he writes! :) captures completely my attention!
